It's A.....

Today was the big day! And while although the sonogram pictures were not as clear as last time, we were still able to confirm the gender. What they guessed on December 11 was right - GIRL!!!

We were not as surprised since they guessed that last time, but had it been a boy I would've been really shocked. I just felt like it was a girl, for various reasons. So now we have the huge issue of picking out a name. We had a boy name ready, but not a girl name...so we will be working on that for a while. Since high school we always said Samantha was our favorite name. Yep, in high school Nick and I talked about marriage and babies! My favorite doll from the American Girl collection was Samantha. But my cousin named her little girl Samantha so now Nick is against using that name. Hopefully we can find another name that we love just as much!

Everything checked out very well, all of the organs looked great and she measures 8 ounces (1/2 a pound) in weight. The doctor was pleased I gained two pounds and am finally back at my pre-pregnancy weight after all the morning sickness early on. She gave me specific instruction to gain four pounds in the next month. That sounded weird - being told to gain weight, and a specific goal at that.

I go back on February 5th to review blood work results and a tummy check. All is going great and we couldn't be more blessed!

  1. Congrats! I'm so excited for y'all! I love the picture of the feet. :)

I understand about being shocked if the baby had turned out to be a boy. Kyle and I were so sure we were having a girl, so were not at all surprised when we found out that was true.
