We went for Sydney's two week check up this past Tuesday. She gained weight! She is up to 6.6 pounds now...growing girl. I took that as a sign that breast feeding is going well. It is by far one of the hardest things I have ever done but I know it is very worth it.
After Sydney was about a week old she started spitting up quite a bit. It didn't seem like normal baby spit up so we discussed it with the doctor this week. She sent us for a pyloric sonogram on Wednesday at Cook Children's Imaging Center. She was guessing reflux, since it is common in babies and I have a nine year history of reflux (stinks!). But she wanted to be sure it wasn't pyloric stenosis. The sonogram confirmed it is just reflux. She gave us medicine but so far we are trying to manage it other ways.
At the sonogram appointment she had a little ankle bracelet on that had her information on it. That's when I noticed it says "Age: 0 months." Awww. We won't be able to say that for much longer...week three is coming up fast.
She is much more wiggly now at two and a half weeks old. You cannot leave her on the changing table for a second, she squirms like a mad woman! She loves to kick and stretch in her sleep so we have given up on swaddling her arms. So far she is still a really good baby...very predictable, as long as Mommy feeds her on time she's all good. :)
We had professional pictures taken yesterday and I am working with the photographer to order them. I am also finally ordering announcements since we have the professional pictures now. Hopefully I can post some next week. Her next doctor's appointment is in August at two months old - I cannot imagine how much she will grow between now and then!
