We Have a Clapper!

Today Sydney figured out how to purposely clap! Hooray! Oh it's the little things we celebrate. So cute. The past two days she was doing it somewhat by accident.

However I have learned, not just today but over time, that children do not perform on command. I remind Nick of this when he tries to get Sydney to give someone a high-five. She only does it when she wants to...and that usually isn't coincidentally at the same time you want her to do it.

So of course tonight when Nick got home and I tried to show him how she can clap...she suddenly couldn't clap anymore. But that's okay! We know she can do it. She eventually did it later without coercing.

She is on the brink of being mobile and it's so fun to watch. She can now go from her back, to her tummy, to sitting upright. She can scoot herself around and basically get to where she wants to go but not by crawling yet. She does the little wiggle when she's on all fours so I bet any day now she just takes off. How much fun that will be! No turning back then. She loves to stand up and hold on to something too.

She had her nine month check up last Friday and is progressing great. Below are some sneak peak of Easter pictures we had taken on Saturday. Unfortunately she had a fever at the time so she wasn't all smiles, but at least she wasn't crying. Instead we just get "serious Sydney." Still perfect.
