So I have completed a full three days of being a stay at home mom. It doesn't sound like a lot but for some reason it feels like longer? Hmmm. Not sure why that is. I will say while there have been some tense moments of tantrums and diaper-changing-battles, overall I feel a lot more relaxed. No more rushing to get ready in the morning, and dreading the good-byes at daycare while she crawls after me crying. Instead now we wake up, she crawls in bed with me, has a cup of milk, then we cuddle for a while before waking up our yorkie George. I know, it sounds rough doesn't it... :)
I have really enjoyed the endless supply of hugs and kisses she gives during the day. I try to mentally retain those moments for when later on she cries because I won't give her the cell phone, or she throws herself on the floor in a perfect tantrum because I told her to be "gentle" with George. Oh joy!
We have had a busy week the past seven days. Below are some pictures. Last Saturday we went to visit Deepa and Jason. They were in town from Houston, TX but are about to embark on an adventure of relocating to Norway for a few years. Monday we spent the 4th at Nick's parents house swimming and hanging out. Tuesday we went swimming again with a moms group I joined in Mansfield. We had a lot of fun and Sydney got to try homemade ice cream for the first time. She loved it! Tuesday night Auntie Jasmine stopped by for a visit; she was in town from Atlanta, GA.
Sydney is starting to take her first steps on her own. She started yesterday, taking two steps, then three. Today she took up to four. She may be walking by this weekend! Click here to see a video on YouTube of her walking attempt.
