Is It Winter? Couldn't Tell!

Oh my gosh. The weather this week has been absolutely gorgeous! I cannot believe it is suppose to be winter. Of course this weekend we will get back into the 50s again, but the 70s have been super awesome the past two days. I told Nick he should take off work tomorrow to enjoy it with us but he said no. Boo.

I had lunch with a former coworker today and she asked me if I missed working. Of course I do! Staying home is a very self-less and selfish job. It's self-less because we sacrifice tremendously to afford it, and forgo many material things we could otherwise afford with my income. If I would have kept working, our goal was to have our house paid off by July of this year. Now our goal is to have it paid off before we turn 40. Talk about sacrifice! It's the price we "pay" so that Sydney gets my absolute undivided attention every day. She wakes up to Mommy every morning, I get to ensure she eats as healthy (or unhealthy) as I want her to, she gets lots of hugs and kisses (more than she wants sometimes) all day long, and at night we both celebrate as Daddy walks through the door (Amen!).

It's selfish too, because the likelihood that Sydney will remember these years is slim to none. I don't remember what I was doing at 20 months old, do you? But I will definitely remember these treasured years when Sydney was young and adored her Mommy. I will most likely crave them when she approaches 12 or 13 years old, (if not sooner!), LOL! Sydney doesn't even know what all she is missing out on yet because we simply cannot afford to spoil her with lavish gifts and trips. As she gets older I'm sure she will just as soon ship me off to work if she is told "we can't afford it" and ties that to the "because Mommy doesn't work" factor. Ha!

There are moments where I think I am just not cut out to be a stay-at-home mom. Especially a pregnant one! The patience required of me is an amount I seriously did not think I had. Then there are days like yesterday and today where I feel tremendously blessed that smack-dab in the middle of the day, we can jump up and go to the park. Awesome! I take photos for Sydney, I write personal letters to Sydney, I blog for Sydney, to make these memories permanent for her because oh how I wish my Mom would have done the same. At 31 years old, my Mom had 18 years left to live and didn't know it. Now I'm trying to make the best of every day, Lord willing, you just never know what tomorrow holds. Oh how I love this little girl and can't wait to meet her little sister; we are going to have so much fun!

"Cheese!"

Another "cheese!" pose

She climbs all over the playground equipment by herself now...
And I nearly cry because she use to need my help. Aww!
