Doctor's Report

Yep, two reports in one day. I got a call from my doctor's office after I had left a message about the "great hernia news" (I guess there is such a thing, LOL). Apparently the hernia was the secondary reason for induction. The primary reason was Sydney's small size. This didn't make sense to us because I never thought a small baby would be cause for concern (except of course premature small). But the PA explained that they are cautious about possible IUGR - Intrauterine Growth Restriction (read more about that by clicking here).

Anyhow, from what I've read the only thing that fits that issue for me is her size. I do not smoke, no drugs, my blood pressure is nice and low, and I have not been sick my entire pregnancy (minus morning sickness). Personally I just think she's small but I guess you cannot be too careful.

So it looks like June 15 might be the day if she doesn't make her own appearance. I think I have made peace with it now. It was just a little shocking on Friday when we hadn't thought induction was even on the table at this point.

In other news, I found the first letter Nick wrote to me where he admitted he had fallen in love with me. Is that not priceless? I have it in writing from 1996. We probably have hundreds, maybe even over 1,000, letters we wrote each other from high school and then when he was in the military (cell phones weren't mainstream yet when he went to the Army). I had stuck this one aside in a special place along with a couple other favorites. Brings back so many memories, and now here we are in 2010 about to start our family. Blessed!
