Darn Allergies

Well, I think our park visits may be coming to an end. Just when the nice weather is starting to come around, my allergies have officially flared up. Hence why I am up blogging at 5:30 AM. I have been up since 4 AM with allergies! September and October are the worst for me.
We had a pretty good week and stayed busy as the week before. Monday my friend April came over with her son Landon and we ventured to the Divine Consign sale in Grapevine. I hadn't been to this particular consignment sale before but was really excited because they have a 75% off period. We arrived at 9:30 AM, and items were 50% off...but at 10 AM everything became 75% off. Woo hoo! My personal Heaven to find clothing items for less than $1.00. I also found a very adorable (and practically brand new) Disney Tinkerbell backpack for Sydney. She liked holding it while we were shopping, but she REALLY liked wearing it later on at home.

Tuesday we checked out the Just Between Friends consignment sale in Fort Worth. Now, this was NOT 50% off day...which was the only time I had ever been in the past. Instead what I found was a enormous selection of the most adorable clothes and was extremely disappointed that I would not be back on the 50% off day due to prior committments. SO. MUCH. CUTE. STUFF! But...at $3.00 and $4.00 a piece, when I am use to paying $1.50/piece, it was a bit difficult for me to shop too much. I went there for a cheap Halloween costume, and found two that were pretty cute. The bunny was $6.00 and the clown was $4.00, so I grabbed both. I wasn't about to wait another month to see how they fit so we had dress up time when we got home later, after having lunch with my wonderful friend Nicole (who is pregnant with her second baby, yay!!).

A Facebook poll had the bunny costume as a favorite but we shall see if the weather permits such a thick costume. I must say she was a pretty darn cute bunny rabbit! And clown. :)

Wednesday my friend Alicia came to visit with her daughter Vera. Little Vera was born on June 22 of this year, so in many ways, she is like looking at Sydney exactly one year ago. Crazy how much changes in a year!

Thursday we hosted a play date with our new moms group for 2010 moms. I cooked bacon before our guests arrived, and then after the kids played a while we made pancakes. After all that fun, Sydney and I both took naps because I was going on zero caffeine for the day. Nick made it home early so I could meet some amazing friends out for dinner. Unfortunately we had to move our dinner inside from the patio because of my allergies. Agh! But had a good time nonetheless. Tomorrow Nick is off work and I am volunteering at a social event with Lockheed Martin. I don't work there anymore but I have so many friends there that it is hard to pass up an opportunity to reconnect with some of them in person. Although, since I have been awake since 4 AM...I'm not sure how much of a social butterfly I will be - Starbucks is already calling my name. TGIF!
